Here we are again for another pictures of the week installment! As always this week we’ve seen a huge number of top quality images pass through the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏgates and choosing our favourite 5 to highlight hasn’t been easy…

Why we think this is great: Aerial imagery is one of the many continuing trends in the stock photography world and we’re in regular need of fresh, cool, up to date aerial shots. If fancy having a go at taking some aerial shots for your collection but need a little inspiration, we’ve got you covered.

Why we think this is great: We love how this photographer has used an analogous colour harmony to add drama and depth to this landscape image which has really made it stand out from the crowd.

Why we think this is great: Photos taken from alternative perspectives are continuing to grow in popularity and it’s not hard to see why. Point of view (pov) images, wide angled shots, images from underneath and close ups are great ways to create an eye catching photograph. This is a great overhead shot with beautiful composition and colour tones. If you’d like to more ideas of how you can use alternative perspective within your own images, check out these great examples.

Why we think this is great: Creating powerful underwater photography is hard to master but one sure fire way to get your images to stand out from the crowd is to use a split level composition like this photographer’s done. It makes the viewer feel like they’re part of the image swimming alongside this Rocky Mountain Toad.

Why we think this is great: Authenticity is one of those subjects we talk about a lot but that’s because it shows no signs of becoming less popular anytime soon, if anything it’s a trend still continuing to grow and grow. We love the tones of this authentic lifestyle image and the messy ‘realness’ that makes us feel liked we’re actually stepping into this families kitchen not into a stock photo shoot.
If 5 images aren’t enough, check out more great images submitted in the last week. Motivated to get uploading this week? If you submit any images you think would be perfect candidates for our next ‘Pictures of the Week’ post, tweet the image refs to with the hashtag #AlamyPOTW and we’ll consider them for the feature.
