ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏContent Pictures of the Week #25

Well, another week has passed and we’re back here again ready for another  pictures of the week blog featuring 5 of our favourite images that have been uploaded to ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏover the last 7 days…

Why we think this is great: Here in Britain we love to talk about the weather. If it’s hot we moan, if it’s cold we moan, mother nature just can’t win. But every cloud has a silver lining, as our obsession with the changing climate means weather is always in the news. This week we’ve had a much needed (in my opinion anyway) break from the scorching summer and have been blessed with heavy rain…which was great for a day or two but if you’re listening mother nature, we’re sorry we moaned about the sun, please bring it back?

Why we think this is great: Maybe if we dream about ice cream dates the sun will return? We love this authentic lifestyle shot that’s harnesses the trending topic of sensory connections. Images showing  real life sensations, making you feel connected to the environment and the people around you.

Why we think this is great: We regularly chat about the need for top quality underwater imagery so we love it when fresh content is uploaded. The alternative angle the photographer’s used for this shot adds a dramatic, cinematic feel to what could have been just another shark photo, but instead it stands out from the crowd as a work of art.

Why we think this is great: The use of alternative perspectives is a trend continuing to take the stock photography world by storm. Point of view (pov) shot’s like this one are growing in popularity along with close ups, high overhead aerial views, images from underneath, and wide angled shots. If you fancy having a go at changing up your images with the use of alternative perspectives, check out this lightbox for some inspiration.

Why we think this is great:  If you’ve been reading our contributor blogs for a while, you may know that I’m a bit of a crazy dog lady and it’s a constant battle of will power to not include shots of dogs each week. Well, this week I lost that battle so here’s a cute photo of a dog but fear not there is method to my madness. As a nation of animal lovers it’s no surprise images of people and their pets are currently trending and gaining popularity with customers. If you’re wanting to get some snaps of your much loved pets to add to your collection but need some inspiration? We’ve got you covered.

If 5 images aren’t enough, check out more great images submitted in the last week. Motivated to get uploading this week? If you submit any images you think would be perfect candidates for our next ‘Pictures of the Week’ post, tweet the image refs to  with the hashtag #AlamyPOTW and we’ll consider them for the feature.
