Welcome to a new blog series where we’ll be getting to know members of the �ڹϳ���Content Team through a series of quick fire questions. Shelley – Contributor Relations

What’s your favourite place on earth?

*muffled* “sorry I have a mouthful of hummus” *She finishes mouthful of hummus*

“Errrm, I’ve been to quite a few places, I reckon Ecuador was probably my fave. I think the culture is cool and there’s just a lot of rain forests. I did some volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation centre and I loved it, there was a lot of monkeys, some birds…other animals it was good, good times”

What was the first album you bought?

*sniggers* “I think, I THINK it was erm Hearsay’s first album, I think it was called Pure and Simple but I’d have to look it up. I still remember the dance moves” *starts singing Pure & Simple whilst taking another mouthful of cracker with hummus* – we’ve since looked it up and their first album was Popstars and Pure & Simple was a track on the album.

You get stuck in a lift with 3 people (dead or alive) who are they?

“They’re not going to be dead though are they? I won’t be in a lift with a corpse?…” *confirms they won’t be dead* “Erm who would have good chat? I don’t know, I feel like I don’t like that many people”

*laughter*

“I don’t know, there are a lot of people in this world. Maybe The Queen, The Queen would be cool, I think she’d be funny she’s just one of those funny old people. David Attenborough because he’s just, you don’t really need a reason, he’s just David Attenborough. I’d have someone that’s funny like Danny Dyer. I think those 3 would be a good mix.”

What’s your favourite movie quote?

“She’s my friend because we both know what it’s like to have people be jealous of us.” – Cher, Clueless

What’s the last song that was stuck in your head?

“Pure and Simply by Hearsay” *erupts into laughter*

What’s your favourite TV show?

“Currently Love Island, I don’t watch that much TV but right now it’s Love Island. Ohh and Gossip Girl, I’ve watched all seasons start to finish at least 3 times”

Do you have an unusual celebrity crush and if so who is it?

*cheeky giggle* “Erm, yeah I think most of the Content Team know who my unusual celebrity crush is. I’m in love with Luis Suarez, because he’s just, I don’t even know. Just look at him, he’s so attractive. He’s manly…and bites people.” *more laughter* “don’t put that in!”

What’s your favourite ’90s jam?

“I don’t know, I loved a bit of TLC you know No Scrubs. I think that was the 90’s” *both start singing No Scrubs*

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

“When people spell my name without the ‘E’ because it’s Shelley not Shelly”

What was your childhood nickname?

“My childhood nickname was ‘Nelkins’ or Nelks for short, they still call me Nelkins”

How do you take your tea?

“Real strong, you have to for brew it for a fair amount of time, you can’t just dip the tea bag in and take it out. And then a tiny bit of milk, no sugar.”

What is something everyone looks stupid doing?

“Errrrm, something everyone looks stupid doing? I don’t know like the Macarena or something, you can’t pull the Macarena off really. Or what’s that one where you sit on the floor and go *starts singing and dancing to Oops Upside Your Head by Kidzone* anyways, cool dance moves”

Do you like cheese?

“Looooove cheese, love Cheese. Every single kind of cheese, the stronger the better, the smellier the better.”

What’s your favourite cheese?

“Probably, camembert but when it’s baked so it’s all gooey so you can dip bread in it. Or deep-fried camembert, where they bread crumb it and deep fry it so it’s crispy on the outside and then you cut into it and it all oozes out. It’s soooooo good”

“I don’t know because there are loads of places I’ve not visited, but of the places I’ve visited I’d say Wales, just because it’s got nice landscapes and stuff and lots of nice open spaces, depending on where you go obviously”

What was the first album you bought?

*sniggering* “Quite topical, given the current situation. The first album/single I bought was the, erm, The Lightning Seeds, Baddiel and Skinner – Three Lions (Football’s Coming Home) from the France 1998 World Cup”

You get stuck in a lift with 3 people (dead or alive) who are they?

“So it would probably be a pizza delivery driver, so we’re fed and watered. Errm, *clicking tongue* James Hunt and Matt Bellamy from Muse”

“You’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!” – Charlie Croker, The Italian Job

What’s the last song that was stuck in your head?

“It was ‘All these things that I’ve done’ by The Killers”

“Favourite TV show is probably CSI, like the original one, the Las Vegas one”

*taps pen awkwardly* “errrm no, no I don’t”

“90’s jam, that’s probably got to be Park Life by Blur”

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

“I’ve probably got a couple but they’re so petty…people saying ‘like’ too much even though I say ‘like’ too much, but not as much as some people”

What was your childhood nickname?

“Buckel…original but during sixth form I was called ‘light bulb’ because I had platinum blonde bleached hair”

How do you take your tea?

“Builder strength, milk and two sugars”

“I do”

“Erm I’ve got a couple. Stilton and baked camembert”

What’s your favourite place on earth?

“Hmm, I can’t decide between Lyme Regis, that’s one of my favourite places. I love New York but I don’t know that that would be my favourite place on earth. Or there’s this place in Devon called Newton Poppleford where we used to go on holiday every year when I was a child where they have yurts in a field and it’s just the best place ever, I grew up there”

What was the first album you bought?

“Easy, Mcfly Motion in the Ocean. That was the best one, or was it Room on the Third floor. It was Room on the Third Floor.”

What’s your favourite song from the album?

“B���dz����DZ���”

*starts singing Broccoli really badly*

*without hesitation* “Zac Efron, Julie Andrews and errm…I started so strong and now I don’t know. Who else do I love? I’ve got eye candy, my dream woman who I can sing with and maybe someone funny…Melissa McCarthy, she’d be funny”

“This is a really tricky one for me, I love films so much and am a sucker for a quote so I’m torn between a few, I may have to just cheat and include a couple…”

“You’re so vain by Carly Simon. They sing it in ‘How to Lose Guy in 10 Days’ which is one of my favourite films. It’s one of those songs that always pops up in my head going round and round”

“One Tree Hill, I’ve watched it from start to finish at least 3 times and went to a One Tree Hill convention in Paris to meet the cast a few years ago…I’m a big fan”

Do you have an unusual celebrity crush and if so who is it?

“I feel like I do but I can’t think who it would be, because I obviously fancy them so can’t think it’s too unusual. Jamie Oliver is fit, like really fit but then I love a dad bod. And Iain Glen who plays Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones, he’s nearly 60 but still so good looking”

What’s your favourite ’90s jam?

“TLC, Waterfalls or any Shania Twain song…You’re still the one, That don’t impress me much…they’re all crackers”

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

“I feel like I have a lot, especially at the moment everything is irritating me. I guess when people think I’m a boy or call be Colin” *laughs*

What was your childhood nickname?

“My mum and dad used to call me ‘Corinoco’, they still do sometimes”

How do you take your tea?

“Err milky. On the milky side, not too milky so it’s like dishwater but it can’t be too strong. No sugar”

What is something everyone looks stupid doing?

“What does everyone look stupid doing?…people always look silly when they’re running for the bus and wearing matching tracksuit top and bottoms”

Do you like cheese?

“I do like cheese. I don’t like a wide range of cheeses, I don’t like a strong cheese but I do like cheese”

What’s your favourite cheese?

“All jokes aside, my favourite is probably gouda or a garlic roule such as Boursin (other garlic cheeses are available) oooh and halloumi”

“I don’t have a specific place, but city would be New York. I guess my bed as well, sleeping is fun”

What was the first album you bought?

“Hmmm I don’t know the album I bought but the first CD I ever got was a gift from my uncle which was a Spice Girls one. I don’t remember which one it was. I also remember me and my sister buying my mum a cassette tape with the RUN-DMC song, It’s like that.”

“I don’t know. People I find inspirational I guess…Cupcake Jemma, Joy the Baker she seems cool and Christina Tosi”

“It’s a toss-up between the US Office and Parks and Recreation”

“I don’t think I have one.”

“Erm, I am going to be a typical 90’s girl and go Spice Girls, Spice Up Your Life. And I won’t tell you why…” *laughs*

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

“People chewing with their mouth open”

What was your childhood nickname?

“I didn’t have one, not like a proper nickname, you can’t really shorten Siobhan”

How do you take your tea?

“Strong, milk, no sugar. I only really like one brand of tea, I can’t do a bad cup of tea, I can do bad coffee but I can’t do bad tea.”

What brand of tea do you like?

“Thompson’s, it’s a Northern Irish one that my nan always used so me and my sister still always buy it”

What is something everyone looks stupid doing?

“Ohh I don’t know. I supposed people look odd driving, everyone is always in their own little bubble. It’s funny to watch people driving and doing their own thing”

Do you like cheese?

“Most definitely. I don’t really have a favourite, I like all cheese. All cheese is good”
