Everyone now has a platform to be an activist, a belief that everyone has a voice, and that everyone’s voice matters.
Anything from donation pages, petitions, hashtags, and protests can be set up and shared in a matter of seconds but this can also be a downfall. The accessibility of social media means it’s hard to tell who’s participating in ‘slacktivism’ and who is actually participating in meaningful activism.
